Artist Statement
I have never been an artist to use my work to influence, provoke, or raise awareness. I believe these can be powerful attributes behind an artist's work, but I find it to be confining and heavy for viewers in a contemporary world. My artwork is and always has been a way for me to escape, ignore or forget even for a moment about a pain I am resenting. This is the meaning behind my work - to help viewers who may be struggling, experience a moment of piece inside themselves when looking across one of my pieces. The best way of accomplishing that feeling for myself is by honoring & drawing my greatest influences and interests.
